Botanical Fashion

Here at Shibumi we are surrounded by blossom. From our silk embroidered fabric, the Tree of Life pattern on our cashmere fabric, to our own Shibumi garden. Flowers are everywhere!
We truly believe that the presence of flowers in a pattern can evoke feelings of happiness and grace. And that’s why floral patterns never go out of style.
The word Shibumi, could be translated as 'nature seeking expression' and our floral designs are all about bringing the natural world into fashion.
Nature, is where our designer Ruth Guise draws her inspiration from. Through our floral fabrics and with her heart, she expresses her strong connection to our Mother Nature.
Plants, trees and flowers are at the centre of her creation process and it shows on our beautiful and full of life designs.

The Tree of Life
Tree Of Life is Shibumi's signature pattern. The fabrics are full of life, scattered with flowers and birds. This features on our beautiful cashmere coats and jackets, shawls, dressing gowns and also on our bed throws. This pattern is our tribute to nature and a celebration of it's beauty and symmetry.
The Tree Of Life represents harmony and balance in nature, rebirth and connection of the earthly and the spiritual. Trees are symbols of strength, individuality and expression, calmness, growth and the interconnectedness of everything.

Flowers are not only a staple in the world of fashion, but they also hold a significant place in country house interiors. Whether you reside in a quaint stone cottage or an elegant manor, the tradition of incorporating floral designs into home decor has stood the test of time.
There are many ways to bring vibrant flower patterns into your home. Floral cushions for your sofa, armchair or even your bed are great ways to lift up your mood even on a gloomy day. Shibumi cushions can be made from all of our silk fabrics and you can even choose your own piping.
