New Year, New Home

 

A new year, a new decade, and time for some new décor? We often like to add to our wardrobes at the beginning of a new year, but giving your living spaces a makeover too is just as important for feeling refreshed and ready to take on the year ahead.

We think that having a well decorated bedroom is key to providing relaxation, a sense of wellbeing and most crucially… good sleep!

 

With this in mind we have created two mood boards for you, for bedroom designs that fit with key trends this year, as well as providing relaxing and intimate spaces. Both rooms are very different tastes, but achieve the same feeling of luxury, deep relaxation and comfort.

 

There’s no need to completely overhaul your entire house but by adding a few key pieces, you will feel the whole energy of your home shift!

First off, we have a beautifully light, airy and fresh room theme. Think soft pinks, neutrals, on-trend rattan furniture and fresh linen curtains. Of course, paired with our beautiful raw silk cushions in Narnia and Blush.

Choose this bedroom décor if you feel like you need more space in your life, these light colours and neutral tones will create the feeling of a less cluttered and chaotic life, leading to better sleep and feeling like you have room to breathe.

 We had to start, of course, with our absolutely stunning raw silk cushions in all the soft, light and Spring colours. Shown here in Narnia, Paradise, Pearl Green and Blush.

These cushions are available in four sizes and are lovingly handmade by our dressmaker in our Gloucestershire studio, a true work of art!

We can make these cushions in any of our silk designs, and you can choose different colours for the front, back and piping…giving you the opportunity to design cushions that fit perfectly with your home.

For this soft, bright room theme we recommend sticking with one or two colours that complement the rest of the room, if you have lots of ivory and grey tones choose cushions in Ivory, Moon, Moonstone or Star. For blue based rooms go for Narnia, French Blue, Moon Dust or Mint Ice, and for pink toned décor we love Blush, Peone, Pink Sugar or Vintage Rose.

 

 

 

Fresh flowers bring such a feeling of luxury to a room… bringing a bit of nature inside your home can be such a mood booster and just help to make every day feel a bit more special!

 

 

Adding a decorative bed throw to your bed is the perfect way to easily change the feel of the room. Our cashmere and silk throw in Eggshell is perfect for this light and airy room design. These bedspreads add a touch of luxury and glamour, and are so lovely to sleep under! All our bed throws are reversible, if you wanted to change to a warmer toned room, simply flip the bedspread over and you will see the beautifully rich orange tones of the other side, Apricot Moon.

 

 

Adding small details like some gorgeous new mugs for your morning coffee is a really affordable way to put the finishing touches to your new bedroom, make those Sunday morning lie ins feel extra special! We love these ones from Nkuku.

Our second design has a different feel all together, still luxurious and calming but with much richer and jewel toned colours. Think deep, dark velvet, vibrant raw silk cushions in Mineral, Aubergine, Jumoke Sun and Wild Orchid. Dark wood and beautiful wallpaper gives this room an opulent and cosy feel; perfect for those who want to be taken away to another world when they go to bed. Snuggle up in our dressing gown in Opaline and Bed Throw in Imperial Blue… Bliss!

Choose our raw silk cushions in various sizes for an effortlessly cool look, colours like Mineral, Aubergine and Dusk work perfectly together for this room design. Don’t forget you can order custom design cushions with any combination of silk to match your décor perfectly.

 

Adding small pieces of statement furniture to a room can really change the mood… these stunning dark wood bedside tables are a perfect example. They are fairly inexpensive but add such a sense of luxury and elegance to the room.

 

 

We love a feature wall! This absolutely stunning wallpaper from Divine Savages is what our dreams are made of! Rich, dark colours will be the perfect backdrop to the other elements of this room… you don’t need to cover every wall, we suggest using this wallpaper just on the wall behind your bed for a real statement.

 

 

Lastly, we have our divine bedspread in Imperial Blue cashmere. As we said before, adding a beautiful bed throw to your bed can instantly change the atmosphere of a room. This one contains rich jewel tones purples, teal, gold and red... just perfect to compliment the theme of this luxurious room.
